1. Design Thinking

“Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success.” - Tim Brown

Design thinking is a process for solving problems by prioritizing the user’s needs above all else. It relies on observing, with empathy, how people interact with their environments and employs an iterative, hands-on approach to creating innovative solutions.

In today’s constantly changing business demands and ever-evolving technologies, design thinking lets you ensure well-thought-out solutions that is aligned to your users. By thinking through the process from all possible different angles right up front, it keeps you on the right path and avoid the time and expense of rolling out new features or functionality post-launch.
Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown.

Phase

1

Empathize—Discover end Users' Needs

We take an empathetic approach to understanding the problem we need to solve. Active listening skills are used to do thorough user research. Empathy is crucial to a human-centred design process such as design thinking because it removes any biases or preconceived ideas, own assumptions and gains real insight into users and their needs.

Phase

2

Define— State users’ Needs and Problems

Information captured during the phase 1 is thoroughly analyzed and synthesized to define the core problems. Different personas are created to help keep your efforts human-centered before proceeding to ideation.

Phase

3

Ideate— Challenge Assumptions and Create Ideas

Based on inputs from phases 1 & 3, we take a multi-dimensional view of the problem and identify innovative solutions to the problem statement using Brainstorming.

Phase

4

Prototype— Start to Create Solutions

The objective is to identify the best possible solution for each problem found. We first test the hypothesis using simple wireframe and a Sudo Prototype. If needed, it is extended to a simple scaled-down version of the technology solution to validate the solution by Users.

Phase

5

Test— Try Your Solutions Out

We encourage various stakeholders thoroughly test the prototypes and capture the feedback. Use the results to recalibrate problems if required and to find or rule out alternative solutions.
